Good news for all the animal lovers. Finally, there is something on the menu that you can eat at McDonald’s!
McDonald’s has introduced it’s first ever vegan burger!
The McVegan was first tested in Tampere, Finland from October to November. The idea was to gauge the success of sales for the burger before launching it officially.
Marketing Director for McDonald’s Finland, Christoffer Ronnblad, told Veggie Athletic about the progress during the testing period.
He said that “At least the feedback that we have quickly received, and what reception has been online yesterday and already the other day, it has been quite positive. We are going to be positive in this test.”
According to Independent, Staffan Ekstam, McDonald’s head of foot strategy in Sweden said, “The test in Finland blew all the expectations out of the water. We can now offer our guests a vegan burger developed in Sweden. Our ambition is that there should be something on our menu for all of the 400,000 guests who visit us every day.”
The McVegan is a soy-based burger. McDonald’s collaborated with vegan food company Anamma to create this new delicious food item.
People on Twitter have also been tweeting about the new burger. Some people were very happy with the results.
One happy customer tweeted, “Btw I had the mcvegan burger yesterday and it actually wasn’t bad, it was really good actually. 10/10 would and probably will eat again.”
Another satisfied customer tweeted, “Our first McVegan Burger (only on sale in Finland and Sweden so far). Best Veggie burger ever. Junk food delight. Well done McDonald’s! (Never thought I’d say that.) #Veganuary.”
One stated, “Just had a McVegan and its THE BOMB.”
People all around the globe want the burger to be available worldwide!
One person tweeted, “@Mcdonald’s can you hurry up and make the McVegan available worldwide? Thanks.”
US residents were especially upset that the burger was available in other countries before the States.
One angry customer tweeted, “WHY DOES EUROPE GET ALL THE COOL VEGAN FOOD (such as vegan cheese at pizza chains and the McVegan) BEFORE THE UNITED STATES.”
Another one said, “@McDonald’s Ok now its time to bring the #McVegan burger to the USA. Enough testing…. time to offer a plant-based option here instead of just Finland. Pleaaase!”
We all want to taste the McVegan!
